TIFAM has always been built on passion, on the quiet certainty that archery is more than a sport—it is history, myth, craft, and art, deserving of a place in storytelling just as much as in competition. Every word published, every illustration drawn, every story told has, until now, been given freely, a gift from those who believe in its worth. But creation should not rely solely on sacrifice.
As a community-driven, non-profit magazine, TIFAM is not in a position to offer payment for serialized work published within the magazine. Our mission has always been to foster a space where archers, historians, writers, and artists can come together to share knowledge, preserve history, and celebrate the cultural dimensions of archery. While serialization in TIFAM Magazine remains an unpaid opportunity, offering authors mentorship, exposure, and editorial support, we recognize the importance of fair compensation in the broader literary world.
Therefore, we are enhancing our book publishing offer, ensuring that authors selected for full book publication receive royalties above industry standards, as we always put authors first. Successful candidates whose serialized works are chosen for book publication will be professionally edited, designed, and marketed, with authors receiving royalties ranging from 15% (for print) to 30% (for e-books) of the retail price per copy sold. Additionally, once a sales threshold of 1,000 copies is reached, print royalties will increase to 25%, ensuring that authors directly benefit from the success of their work. This model reflects TIFAM’s commitment to supporting creators, valuing their contributions, and providing a sustainable foundation for their literary careers.
The strongest and most resonant works will have the opportunity to transition into full book publication, ensuring a lasting legacy.
TIFAM is not just words on a page—it is something to be seen, something to be experienced. That is why visual artists will also be included in this commissioning model.
Too often, emerging writers and artists are asked to trade their rights for exposure, a deal that benefits only the system. Not here. Writers will retain full copyright ownership of their work, with TIFAM holding exclusive first-printing rights for two years—long enough for a book to find its audience and establish itself. After that, the author is free to take their work wherever they choose, to expand it, to build upon it, to continue their journey with the foundation already laid beneath them.
This is not just about paying creators—it is about reshaping the way archery is represented in literature, art, and historical storytelling, ensuring that those who give their time and talent to this idea are supported in ways that allow them to continue, grow, and create something that will last.
