TIFAM are introducing the TIFAM Youth Merit Cup at this year’s archery festival, it is a way to encourage young people to get involved with archery and will not be focused solely on competition scores, there are plenty of recognitions available for that. This is to give young fun archers the opportunity to get involved with volunteering at club level in promoting the sport and helping with club activities. This is intended to be a perpetual trophy awarded every year at the TIFAM archery festival to the young person deemed to have actively promoted the sport of archery and been an active member of their club.

This award is open to all young archers between the age of 10 & 18 across all archery clubs and organisations in Southern and Northern Ireland. Young archers must be nominated by their club through the club chair on the official TIFAM nomination form, which must be signed and dated by both the club chair and a parent or guardian before TIFAM committee with consider a nomination. The young person must have been involved with their club and shooting for a minimum of 1 year to be eligible. The closing date for nominations this year will be close of business Monday 5th of August, no late nominations will be accepted by the committee Once the nominations are in the committee will consider the nominations and come to a decision on the winner, the committee’s decision is final. The recipient of the cup will be contacted approx. 3 weeks before the festival along with the 2 runners up and invited to attend the festival along with their parents for the presentation of the cup. The festival is to take place the weekend of the 7th & 8th of September this year (2024), in future years this date will be likely to change.
